About Us

Tom and Gabrielle Pioske Aberdeen SD meat processingIn 2015 Tom and Gabrielle Pioske purchased Frohling Meats from Jon and Stephanie Frohling at which time they changed the name to Frohling Quality Meats, Inc.  In the summer of 2015 the business became a USDA inspected facility which allowed us to expand the wholesale side of the business and opened the doors for our products to be shipped/distributed Nationwide. In 2019, the Pioske’s purchased the Butcher Block in Oakes, ND and began offering meat processing services from both the Hecla and Oakes locations.

Tom and Gabrielle met in the fall of 2011 and were married in the spring of 2013. They have 2 little girls Claire and Analise who keep them very busy and love to come in and watch Dad and Mom butcher or “help” in the retail store.
Tom and Gabrielle enjoy working together, some days if their schedules work out they are able to butcher or make sausage together.

History

Frohling’s Jack and Jill opened in 1908. They had a full grocery department with a meat department in the back where they did custom slaughtering.

In 1997 a meat processing plant was added on to accompany the grocery store and in 2002 Catering services were added to the business specializing in large-group parties.

The Awards behind Our Products

In 1998, Jon started attending meat processing conventions and won his first Grand Champion with a bone-in ham. From 1998-2014, Jon racked up several hundred awards for his processed meats both at a local and national level.

These award winning recipes are still being used today. Since taking over ownership in 2015, Tom and Gabrielle have continued the winning tradition with some old recipes and also adding some new ones. The Spicy Italian Bratwurst won best of show at the Minnesota Meat Processing convention in 2015 and the Honey Ham Snack Stick which was Grand Champion in its class at the South Dakota Meat processing convention in 2017.
